It is located in the old Military Hospital of Palma, a thirteenth century building that currently houses an important and extensive documentary and bibliographical legacy of the Army. It partially occupies the first of the three wings surrounding what was once the Convent of Santa Margalida. Among its curiosities features a pharmacy, from 1857, donated by Queen Isabel II of Spain during her visit to Palma in 1852, on her way to Maó (Menorca) to supervise the construction of the fortress of La Mola.
The center also celebrates exhibitions, concerts, seminars and all kinds of cultural activities in collaboration with institutions, associations and different organizations of the Balearics.
