Throughout history, the canon has become an instrument of civic, ethical and aesthetic education, but above all a norm of social behavior. Aesthetic norms and customs are a reflection of human societies and their political systems.
From classical and Roman figures, the artist Mateo Maté disrupts and modifies all this ideal to adapt it to a new diffuse and scattered reality. The exhibition Canon is a production of the Community of Madrid.
