Manacor 2018 Carnival

Sa Rueta, Sa Sua and el Entierro de la sardina (the Burial of the sardine) are the three events of the Manacor Carnival that takes place from 8 to 13 February. It programs many activities to be enjoyed these days by children  and grown-ups wearing their best costumes.

The carnival in Manacor begins with the Dijous Llarder (Thursday “lardero”) and ends on Tuesday 13 February with the burial of the sardine, the ceremony with which the end of Carnival is announced.

Thursday 8. Dijous Llarder
Rueta

17:00 h. Concentration of carriages and processions in the Plaça del Rector Rubí. Parade with the batucada Manafroc.

17:00 h. Eco Tio-Vivo. Plaça del Rector Rubí

17:15 h. Children's show: Doctor Bombolla. Plaça de la Rectoria
 
17:30 p.m. Show for children: Trabucats. Carrer de Mercadal
 
17:30 h. Neorural show for children of all ages. Plaça de sa Bassa
 
17:45 h. Performances by young bands: Mel i Sucre. Plaça del Rector Rubí

18:00 h. Performances by Grup 1A. Carrer Bosch

In the squares and streets there will be places where you can eat.
 
Saturday 10

Rua

18:30 h. Concentration of disguises in the Plaça del Rector Rubí. Departure of the Manafoc batucada. Tour: Rector Rubí, Kos, Antoni Galmés and Plaça de Ramón Llull.

18:30 h. Eco Tio-Vivo. Plaça Ramon Llull
 
Great carnival party with western themes. With dj's performances:

23:00 h. Actual music

In case of a lot of rain, the Rueta will be done on Friday 9 and the Rua on Sunday 11.

Tuesday 13
Burial of the Sardine

19:30 h. Departure of the funeral procession from the Carrer Gelabert. Itinerary: Plaça del Convent, Nou streets, Amador, s'Antigor, Foners, Pilar i Pins and Rosselló, where a sardinada will be held.
