Pablo Mielgo directs the last concert of the 5th International Festival of Music 'Vila de Santanyí', which is celebrated in the parish church of Sant Andreu and is dedicated to the work of Georg Friedrich Händel. Featuring the Symphonic Orchestra Illes Balears and the German organist Jürgen Essl as soloist.

 

Jürgen Essl (1961) is one of the most important organists and composers of the European musical scene of the moment. He performs regularly in places as prestigious as the cathedral of Notre dame in Paris, the Sala Smetana in Prague or the Konzerthaus in Vienna, among many others. Since 2003 he is a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart.

The 5th International Music Festival 'Vila de Santanyí' has as its resident composer the Majorcan Antoni Perera Fons, one of the most considered Spanish record producers and National Music Award 2016.

The area of art is carried out this year by Pep Coll, resident artist of the Festival who presents from  May 21to  July 1in the Sala Bússer the exhibition Confesions d'un pocavergonya.
