It is the second French ensemble to appear this year on the program of the 56th Festival de Pollença, with a career of more than thirty years dedicated to give rebirth to the repertoires of Baroque, Classic and Romantic interpreted with period instruments.
Les musiciens du Louvre was founded in Paris in 1982 by Marc Minkowski, although its headquarters has been located since 1996 in Grenoble. The group receives financial support from the Department of Isère, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Ministry of Culture and Communication of France (DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes).
The concert is conducted by the Australian violinist Christoph Koncz, principal instrumentalist of the Vienna Philharmonic, and has Francesco Corti as soloist. This Italian harpsichord player, member of Les musiciens du Louvre since 2007, has directed the two European tours of the Holland Baroque Society.
