In Lope de Rueda, 31, Javier Rodríguez Lozano (Madrid, 1992) explores the pictorial potential of the entrance mats located in the landings of this building where the artist has lived the last eight years. Doormats, daily objects abused and often ignored, have a series of symbolic and formal charges that interest the artist.
Javier Rodríguez Lozano has made a certical trip down the staircase of his block of flats, scanning all the existing door mats on the doors of his neighbors' houses and then copying them in canvas format.
