Through Lorca Spanish Songs (2019), the singer and actress from Cordoba Mariola Membrives vindicates the most musical Lorca and recovers with renewed spirit the popular Spanish songs that the Granada poet recorded on a piano duet with 'la Argentinita' in 1931. She reaches the 25th edition of the Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla festival with a quartet format.

Mariola Membrives is graduated with the higher degree of flamenco singing and trained in the field of jazz and contemporary music at the Esmuc and Taller de Música de Barcelona. After her album Llorona (2014) duet with the Japanese bassist Masa Kamaguchi, she produces the proposal Omega 20:16, the first revision of the mythical Omega by Enrique Morente for jazz quintet and flamenco guitar.

She is the flamenco voice of the FreeBach212 shows by La Fura and Federico García de Pep Tosar. Her duet with Cádiz pianist Chano Domínguez inaugurates the Mas i Mas Festival at the Teatre Grec in Barcelona in 2017 and, in November of the same year, opens with the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) and under the direction of Josep Caballé interprets El amor brujo at the Auditori de Barcelona.

In 2018, she presents Sed libera nos a malo with the Picgar Orchestra Gagarin at the Flamenco City Festival of Barcelona and her new live proposal La Enamorada travels through the jazz festivals of Tangier, Tetouan, Madrid, Barcelona and the Intramuros de Jerez festival, among others.

Through Lorca Spanish Songs, Membrives prodigiously recovers this historical legacy, which is accompanied by one of the most relevant avant-garde musicians of recent decades, Marc Ribot.

For the show of Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla, Mariola Membrives has created a powerful band with some of the best musicians in the country. Mariola's great voice shines at all times in one of the most exciting and fascinating live shows of the moment.

Mariola Membrives (voice), Javier Pedreira (guitar), Osvi Grecco (guitar) and Vicente Pérez (trombone).
