The Department of Culture, Patrimony and Sports of the Consell de Mallorca organizes the first exhibition dedicated to the artist Mati Klarwein in Mallorca since his death in 2002. The exhibition, curated by Gudi Moragues, meets in the Chapel and on the ground floor of the Centre Cultural la Misericòrdia de Palma 27 paintings from all creative periods since 1950, when he arrived in Deià for the first time.

Mati Klarwein (Hamburg, 1932 - Deià, 2002) was in the sixties and seventies, along with Robert Graves, an agglutinator of arts who experimented with music, poetry and, especially, painting.

Author of some of the most famous album covers, like the mythical Abraxas by Carlos Santana, he collaborated with musicians such as Miles Davis, Leonard Bernstein or The Last Poets.

Mati Klarwein. La llum del somni is a choral proposal in which his family and different private collectors have participated, which has allowed the gathering of emblematic pieces. A journey of five decades of creation through landscapes, portraits and improved paintings, which Mati acquired in popular markets to give another meaning to the works.
