The deepest known cave on earth is called Voronia and is located in Georgia, in the Western Caucasus. This extraordinary cavity serves the company La Veronal as a physical allegory of hell, descending into the abyss of evil to show the dark side of the human condition. Voronia puts the finishing touch to the 32th Season of Opera and Ballet of the Teatre Principal de Palma.
Directed and choreographed by Marcos Morau (Dance National Award 2013), the piece offers an explosive and mysterious combination of text and image, a hallmark of this company founded in 2005 by artists from different disciplines under the umbrella of the Mercat de les Flors from Barcelona.
The company, which visits Mallorca for the first time, presents the full version of Vorònia, with the participation of the Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears, directed in the pit by José Luis Trigueros, and the Cor del Teatre Principal de Palma, directed by Pere Víctor Rado .
Dramaturgy by Pablo Gisbert (co-director of the company El Conde de Torrefiel) and Roberto Fratini and scenography by Enric Planas. The cast is formed by: Joaquín Collado, Rober Gómez, Jon López, Ariadna Montfort, Lorena Nogal, Shay Partush, Manuel Rodríguez, Marina Rodríguez, Giacomo Todeschi, Diesgo Tortelli and Sau-Ching Wong.
