Palma de Mallorca

During the eve of August 20, is celebrated the so called pilgrimage of Saint Bernard (Sant Bernat), in which the citizens of Palma go on foot from the plaza de Cort, in Palma, to the Monastery del Secar de la Real. It is one of the oldest traditions of the island and is documented in 1232, time in which pilgrims went to the monastery to be blessed and offered a bouquet of basil.
