Can Prunera. Museu Modernista

7 Votes
Sóller

Dedicated to modernism, the museum occupies a spectacular manor built between 1904 and 1911. It was built by Joan Magraner Oliver, alias Joan Prunera, and follows the trail of Art Nouveau, due to the close ties Soller maintained with France at the time.

It houses a collection of contemporary art from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, by national and international artists, which include paintings by Joan Miró and ceramics of Picasso. Also a room dedicated to avant-garde painter Juli Ramis. In addition to rooms for temporary exhibitions, It features an art library and interpretation center of Modernism.

The museum is managed by Tren de l'Art Foundation, which integrate Sóller Railway and Serra Art Foundation.
