The Madrid company Ibérica de Danza, winner of the 2001 National Dance Award for Creation, presents Fígaro, el barbero de Sevilla (Fígaro, the barber of Seville). A ballet in four acts, in the version of Manuel Segovia, inspired by the iconic and transgressive trilogy of the French playwright and musician Pierre-Augustin de Beaumarchais, with a markedly eclectic character.
The show has a richness and choreographic diversity in that it uses codes from both the Comedia del Arte and Spanish dance. The work as a whole attends to different periods and styles in a pioneering and original version. In addition, it is a nod to three cities in a contemporary space: Madrid, Seville and Vienna.
