Esta producción de 1925 rodada en Mallorca fue estrenada hace 90 años en el Teatre Principal de Palma, que acoge ahora también su reposición. La copia en 35 m/m que se exhibirá forma parte del patrimonio del Archivo del Sonido y de la Imagen del Consell de Mallorca y ha sido objeto de una restauración.
Dirigida y escrita por Jaume Ferrer, y con Anita Delgado, Jorge Dezcallar y Fernando de España Dezcallar en los principales papeles, Flor de espino es una película muda rodada sólo treinta años después de la invención del cine, cuando todavía no se había introducido el sonido. De hecho, uno de los alicientes de esta proyección en el teatre Principal es que contará con el acompañamiento musical al piano de Valentín Moldovan.
