'footprints' by Susana Solano

This internationally renown Catalan sculptor of, is considered the heir to the Spanish sculptural tradition begun by artists like Julio González, Chillida and Jorge Oteiza. She has participated in the most prestigious competitions such as Documenta in Kassel (Germany) in 1987 and 1992, at the XIX Biennial of Sao Paulo (Brazil), the Venice Biennale (1988 and 1993) or the Carnegie International in Pittsburgh 1988.

Throughout her career, Susana Solano (Barcelona, ​​1946) has received outstanding awards, including the Special Prize, awarded by The Utsukushi-Ga-Hata Open Air Museum (Tokyo, 1985), the National Arts Award 1988, and among others, the 2011 Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize of the Real Casa de la Moneda (Royal Mint).

In Gallery Maior de Pollença she presents footprints, an exhibition that brings together a series of sculptures dedicated to furniture and all the ancestral meanings that store these objects.
