MallorcÒpera: Sabina Puértolas

The last event of the 3rd Festival MallorcÒpera stars Sabina Puértolas, one of the most international Spanish sopranos. Accompanied on piano by Francesc Blanco, they offer a program at the Palau de Congressos de Palma consisting of a selection of songs, ballads and arias from famous operas.

Sabina Puértolas is a soprano renowned for her interpretations of a wide repertoire of bel canto and baroque music, such as Marie (La fille du régiment, Donizetti), Gilda (Rigoletto, Verdi), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart), Adina ( L'elisir d'amore, Donizetti) or Rossina (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini), among many other roles.

After she studied at the Pablo Sarasate Professional Conservatory of Music in Pamplona, ​​she moved to Italy, on a scholarship from the Government of Navarra, where she continued with her training. She has received master classes from Victoria de los Ángeles, Miguel Zanetti and Dafne Evangelatos.

Sabina Puértolas has won the Operalia contest, in the zarzuela category, the Ricardo Zandonai and the National Young Intérpretes de Juventudes Musicales contests, among others. She made her debut in 2001 at the Teatre alla Scala in Milan playing the role of Oscar in Verdi's Un balol in maschera.

On the other hand, Francesc Blanco began his piano studies at the Conservatory of the Balearic Islands and finished them at the Conservatory of Valencia, to later pursue advanced studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
He has recorded a CD with the first world recordings of the piano music of Pere Tintorer and, in addition to the many concerts performed, has produced and participated in numerous educational concerts.
