The Culture Department of the City Council of Palma has launched the Palma Cultura Oberta platform, a space for digital cultural content to continue enjoying culture at home, during the quarantine due to COVID 19, and to think about possible futures.

The platform is an open and dynamic space with different proposals that are enriched daily, as well as the list of authors and invited personalities. It has a very simple operation, based on a list of links selected by prestigious professionals within the world of culture that lead to spaces that are already online.

Palma Cultura Oberta proposes a whole series of digital content selected by the technicians of the same department of culture, creators, professionals from the local cultural sector and cultural and social entities.

The website has six different spaces: Día de la dansa (Day of dance), with several videos of performances scheduled within the PalmaDansa Festival that could not be held due to confinement; Possible futures, with a cycle of digital interviews; What you recommend the creators, where you can see plays, children's animation, music, humor, etc .; What the professionals share, with film proposals that can be accessed, conferences, interviews, music or pedagogical proposals to be carried out as a family by the Fundació Miró Mallorca; The selection of the Regidoria de Cultura, with proposals such as the International Jazz Day, Mallorcanochenta or online storytelling; and Casal Solleric, with video and exhibition hall sheets and a selection of digital publications for free consultation.

The platform will also allow direct link to ebiblio, the library network's digital book loan space. With the library card and a password that will be sent to their own email, the user will be able to borrow ebooks.

The coordination of the Palma Cultura Oberta project, which will be operational during the health crisis, will be carried out by Tres Serveis Culturals, with the support of the staff of the Culture and Social Benestar department.
