Sa Rueta is a Carnival festivity which is organized each year by the City Council of Palma for children. The parade of carriages and processions fill the streets with color, imagination and fantasy. It starts at the Avenida Jaume III to continue along the Paseo del Born, Plaza Joan Carles I , Calle Union Plaza del Mercat to end at Plaza de la Reina.
This year Sa Rueta again has de help of the charity Campaign of La Sonrisa Médica(Medical Smile) , which will distribute noses and Candy at Plaza Weyler, Plaza de la Reina and Avenida Jaume III. In addition, the cartoonist Bibi will do caricatures for the price of 2 euros, of which the profits will go to this NGO.
Throughout the afternoon there will be numerous activities for children that will take place at different locations in the centre of Palma:
Carrer de la Riera:: performance of the company Serena's English Puppet Theatre that will do two functions in English. Shadow theater with Els Músics Viatgers.
Passeig del Born: Marathon Circus, with two stages where can be seen acrobatics and juggling.
Plaça de Joan Carles I: Connects Kids, Madò Pereta and dance performances.
Plaça del Mercat: performance of La Fada Despistada .
Plaça de la Reina: Performances of Top Tipitipi and Astronautes Estrellats.
Avinguda Jaume III: Performance of Youth Rock, the band made up of very young artists.
Casal Solleric: Workshops of masks, makeup, painting and balloon modeling and a costume contest endowed with ten awards.
