German singer and actress Ute Lemper opens the XII Jazz Voyeur Festival with her concert Rendezvous with Marlene, dedicated to the trajectory of Marlene Dietrich. Throughout her 35-year career, Lemper has often been compared to the actress, but never before has she dedicated a full show to remember her.
Rendezvous with Marlene is a musical show with a strong theatrical component, where Lemper is transformed into the famous diva to remember her through the story of her life and the interpretation of some of her songs.
The show is based on a three-hour telephone conversation that Marlene and Ute had in Paris in 1988. Ute tells us the story of Marlene while singing her songs corresponding to all the chapters of her life, from the years of cabaret in Berlin to her collaborations with Burt Bacharach.
The XII Jazz Voyeur Festival is held from October to December and programs six concerts, four screenings, five Master Classes and a Q&A session (questions and answers) with Martirio.
