The rural world is directly linked to the roots and identity of Calvia. Despite being one of the leading municipalities of tourism in Mallorca, it maintains the traditions of the past and preserves in its fields a variety of herds of sheep and goats. This fair, with a livestock, agricultural, craft and culinary character is an opportunity to get to know them closely.
After a night of electronic music in Plaza Nova, on Saturday the fair will start with the entry of the animals that participate in the exhibition and competitions. In the morning there will be craft workshops and a popular fideuà. In the afternoon, display of sheepdogs, craft and food market, free barbecue of lamb and, to end the day, popular dance with the performance of Música Nostra.
Sunday is the big day of the fair, with many interesting activities to get to know the herds of sheep and goats of the municipality: animal shows, craft and food market, morphological contests of Mallorcan male and female sheep, exhibition of shearing, or the Balearic Championship of working sheepdogs.
The fair also includes a gastronomic show, in which three restaurants in the area participate, and the performance of the group Cucorba to fascinate the children. The end point is provided by los Quintos del 97, with a session of music by Dj Suasi in the Plaça de la Vila.
