The last Sunday of January, Bunyola celebrates the festival of the Quarteró, organized by the Dancing school of the village, remembering an ancient festival that used to take place in the possessions (large rural estates from Mallorca). At the end of the harvest season, the owners invited the harvesters to a meal, based on herrings and olives, and providing them with a quarteró of wine(the equivalent to 16 liters of wine). Each year, it is held in a different estateand is accompanied by the music of the xeremiers (mallorcan pipers).
