The City Council of Sa Pobla and the editorial Lleonard Muntaner convene every year since 2000, this short narrative prize in Catalan. It is with free choice of subject and works must be original and unpublished, with a length between 80 and 150 pages. The winning work receives a cash prize and publication in the Aliorna collection of said editorial. This award is named after the writer and playwright Alexandre Ballester, who died in 2011 in Sa Pobla at 78 years of age.
