Its name is an acronym for Balears Ofereix Teatre I Literatura (Baleares Offers Theatre Arts). This is a competition open to professional and emerging artists to promote small shows, from Catalan texts in any literary genre aimed at children and youth. It is convened by Sa Xerxa, a non-profit organization that aims to promote children and youth theater in the municipalities of the Balearic Islands. Among its activities is also the organization of the Children's and Youth Theater Festival of Vilafranca de Bonany, in which frame the award is conceded.
