The City Council of Algaida convenes these awards since 1968 on the occasion of the celebration of la Pau de Castellitx. Three subject areas are covered: literature, research and photography. In the literature area three awards are established, all of them for texts in Catalan: Premi de Poesia, Premi de Narració Curta and Premi Llorenç 'Mora' of Popular Poetry (Glosat). The Premi d'Investigació Castellitx is for a research project written in the Catalan language and with subjects related to the municipality of Algaida in any area. The Prize of Photography is with free choice of topic and supports, with possibility to present the photos in black and white or in color. All awards are with financial incentives.
