'Ferrocarril a Mallorca'

0 Votes

In 1875 the first ferocarril (railroad) between Palma and Inca opened, initiating an expansionary policy that came to configure a wide radial rail network in Mallorca with over 280 kilometers.

For over a century the army and railway companies collaborated in the design and construction of the island 's railways, as now is a strong indication this exhibition which also deals with the history of the railways of Majorca and aspects of model railroading that mimic scale world of trains. The exhibition is organized by the Friends of the Railroad of the Balearic Islands.

In many documents all kinds of accessories are exposed (lights, abacus, banners, whistles, etc. ), models of some stations of Mallorca, miniatures and a video of ten minutes with old and new images. For children it is particularly attractive also because in the cloister will be installed a model manned train which runs daily and that children and adults can ride.
