With this exhibition, Gustavo celebrates his half century of artistic activity. More than 150 solo and group exhibitions in and outside of Spain, and a production of more than four thousand paintings, support the career of this painter born in Cartagena in 1939 who moved to Mallorca with his family when he was seven years old. The success of the exhibition has been it is extended until October 14 and end point will put the finissage with Gustavo wants to thank the great reception, a party with wine and cakes for attendees.
His joyful, colorful and humorous paintings enjoy great recognition in Germany, where he has exhibited on several occasions. The last was in 2009, when television and radio of Berlin and Brandenburg (rbb) mounted a retrospective on his 70th birthday.
Can Patilla Boogie-Woogie, gathers selected work by the artist and made from 1964 to the present: thirty frames ten bronze sculptures, one door, two masks, three sketches, a silkscreen and four posters. Here the humor and irony go together with hot topics such as test three of his titles: Banker disguised as a Mallorcan bird offering a mortgage to a Mediterranean pine (2012), Young myopic banker disguised as a moth offering credit to a bush (2012) and The Metamorphosis of politicians into dangerous birds (2013).
Within the Street Arts Festival, on September 20, 21, 25 and 26 will be held the GustavoProjecting. It is the projection of the characters of the artist on the facade of the building of the center Cap Vermell with musical accompaniment. The screenings begin at 21:00 pm.
