Charles Chaplin produced, directed and wrote this film in 1952, which he also starred and for which he composed the soundtrack. It's the last one he directed in the United States and, to some critics, his best film but one of the least known.
The plot of Limelight is situated in London during the First World War. Glade, a veteran comic in decline and alcoholic, welcomes into his home young Thereza (Claire Bloom), whom he saves when she attempts suicide with intoxicated gas. The comic will achieve that she retrieves her love of dance and triumphs a few years later.
The projection of Limelight is part of the cycle Cinefilms organized by CineCiutat. The films are screened in original version with subtitles in Castilian.
