Animated film directed by Pascal Morelli and released in 2002. It is based on the legendary comic book character of Hugo Pratt, who became an archetype of romantic adventurer. The action takes place in 1919 in Asia, where Corto Maltese comes to the aid of the Red Lanterns, a secret society that has saved his life on several occasions.
Its projection is part of the cycle Film and Comic: the history and the dream, held at CaixaForum Palma October1to November 5. The presentations of the films will be carried out by Josep Lluís Fecé, professor at the University of Girona, and Cristina Pujol, Ph.D. in Communication Studies, researcher on gender issues and media professor at the Open University of Catalunya.
