'Lessons of Darkness' by Werner Herzog

0 Votes

Documentary film co-produced by Germany, France and the United Kingdom in 1992 and directed by Werner Herzog, told in the style of a poetic tale of science accompanied with live music by Ramon Godes and Alejandro Royo. Avant-garde musicians put the soundtrack to a film exciting and evocative image she projected live.

One of the world's ecological disasters is exposed after the withdrawal of Iraqi troops from Kuwait. Countless burning oil wells on fire and millions of gallons of black gold poured unchecked into the sea.

But what looks like the end of the world is just the beginning: devastated landscapes, battlefields, deserts moles that look like shrines. In this landscape dehumanized, only bacteria, scorpions and cockroaches can survive. The people who live there is bound to silence.

Werner Herzog is one of the leading representatives of the New German Cinema with Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Wim Wenders and Volker Margarethe von Trotta or Schlöndorf.

Ramón Godes and Alejandro Royo are two longtime musicians. Some artisans of popular music with Mediterranean scents and the jamming.
