Romantic Opera in three acts with music and libretto by Richard Wagner (Germany, 1813 - Italy, 1883), premiered in Weimar in 1850. Its offered live from La Scala in Milan on the occasion of the opening of the opera season.
It is considered the most Italian of Wagnerian works. The most popular are the preludes of the first and third act, the final aria of Lohengrin and the march and bridal chorus which is interpreted in most weddings in western countries.
