The music of the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, the forerunner of Sacred Minimalism, is the proposal of the fifth concert of the 2016-2017 Season of Fundació Studium Aureum. The concert is directed by Carles Ponseti and involves soloists, choir and the orchestra of Studium Aureum.

Arvo Pärt (Paide, 1935) is known mainly for his second compositional period, when he left behind the most severe neoclassicism to immerse himself in ancient music, which led him to produce a music of simple unadorned harmonies. In 2014 he received in Tokyo the prestigious Praemium Imperiale in the category of music.

The program of the concert is composed by L'abbè Agathon (2004-2005), work for soloists, female choir and string orchestra; And Stabat Mater  (1985), for for choir and string orchestra.
