Fourth concert of the season 2012-2013 of the Foundation Studium Aureum and second installment of this series devoted to the German city of Dresden, which occupied a very significant place within music. Its court and churches were a center of musical activity where the best singers, choirs, orchestras and composers would work.
One of them was the Italian Giovanni Alberto Ristori (1692-1753), who in 1726 premiered in Dresden the first comic opera written in Germany, Calandro. In this concert we can hear two of his works: Messa peri l Sanctissimo Natale and O Quam Admirabilia mysterium.
