Casal Solleric celebrates the 70th anniversary of the publication of Joaquín Lavado’s first cartoon as a professional, and just when it is 60 years since the creation of the legendary Mafalda, with the exhibition Quino en la música.
With more than one hundred originals, the exhibition, curated by Judith Gociol and Guillermo Lavado, musician and nephew of Quino, proposes to explore one of the author’s passions: his friendly but overwhelming obsession with music.
Quino is the creator of the popular Mafalda strip, an emotional epicentre of many generations. Outside of the famous character and his world, he was responsible for a work like few others on the entire planet, for its artistic quality and also for, as Joan Manuel Serrat would say, “his concern for reality and what was happening”.
