Until 2017, the Diada de Mallorca was celebrated on September 12, but now it is coincident with the Festa d'Estandar on December 31st. This festival commemorates the conquest of Palma by Rey Jaume I in 1229, after centuries of Arab domination, and its celebration dates back to the thirteenth century, being one of the oldest civil festivals in Europe.
It begins on December 20 with the inauguration of the exhibition about Aurora Picornell at the Palau Reial de Palma. The program includes a hundred activities throughout Mallorca that cover all areas of culture and lasts until January 3. Activity program.
