Le salon de musique de la Baronne de Rothschild by J. Eigeldinger is the title of the fourth concert of Pianino 2019, performed by Akiko Ebi (piano) and Christophe Coin (cello). The XII International Festival of Classical Piano Music is celebrated in the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand of the Cartuja de Valldemossa with five concerts from May 18 to June 15.

The Japanese pianist Akiko Ebi began her studies at the University of Fine Arts in Tokyo and finished them at the Paris Conservatory. Shee obtained a great international recognition in 1975 when she won the 1st Prize of the International Piano Competition Margerite Long and Jacques Thibaud. In 1990, she won the 5th place in the F. Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, after which Martha Argerich performed a patronage on her.

She has performed around the world as a soloist, with ensembles of chamber music and with the most important orchestral groups from Japan, Russia, Poland, Slovakia or Argentina, working with directors the likes of Brüggen, Skrowaczewski, Janowski, Guschlbauer, Foster and Sado.

Akiko Ebi has recorded all Chopin's Studies, Nocturnes, Preludes and Impromptus, as well as his 1st Concert. she has also left memorable recordings of works by authors such as Grieg, Franck, Ravel, Fauré, Webern, among many others. She obtained the order of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres awarded by the French government and holds the prestigious Exxon-Mobile Musical Award of Japan.

For his part, Christophe Coin is a cellist, violambianist and French orchestra conductor, well known worldwide in the field of historicist interpretation. He is the cellist of Cuarteto Mosaïques and the director of the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges. Coin began his musical training with Jacques Ripoche, graduated in 1974 and later studied with a scholarship in Vienna. In 1978 he studied viola da gamba with Jordi Savall in the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

After starting his career as a soloist, in 1984 he founded Mosaïques Ensemble and in 1987 the string quartet Mosaïques with Erich Höbarth, Andrea Bischof and Anita Mitterer, all interpreting members of Concentus Musicus Wien. Since 1991 Coin has been director of the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, for interpretations of cantatas, oratorios and operas of the XVII and XVIII centuries with instruments of the time.

Since 1988 he has taught violoncello and viola da gamba del Barroco at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Christophe Coin has recorded around 50 CDs, both as a soloist and with musical groups, obtaining important prizes with some of them.
