For Alberto Polo Iañez (Palma de Mallorca, 1980), this word game (in Catalan, creus en mi can mean 'crosses in me' or 'believe in me') arises from the search of another being to find oneself. As he says, "I was born a Catholic but without choosing it and without understanding why I was guilty of killing the son of God, a sinner without knowing if I was."
A feeling of guilt, as he claims, that chases us and makes us believe in another person "because we do not believe in ourselves."
The images that are part of the project Creus en mi, provocative and irreverent, were made between 2012 and 2013 in Galicia and Mallorca in analog format (35 mm, 120 mm and Polaroid). The photographs are printed on cotton hahnemuehle.
