Founded in 1979 by Ton Koopman, the Baroque Orchestra of Amsterdam is made up of internationally renowned Baroque interpreters who meet several times a year to work on new programs.

Each concert is a new experience for its musicians that, together with the energy and the boundless enthusiasm of its director, are a guarantee of excellence and great musical quality.

For its part, the Baroque Choir of Amsterdam, founded in 1992, debuted in the city of Utrecht at the Festival of Ancient Music of the Netherlands, premiering worldwide the Requiem (for fifteen voices) and Vespers (for thirty-two voices) of H.I.F. Biber. The recording of both won the Cannes Classical Award for the best interpretation of choral music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Both formations close the 57th Festival de Pollença with this concert led by Ton Koopman and with the soloists Martha Bosh (soprano), Maarten Engeltjes (countertenor), Tilman Lichdi (tenor) and Klaus Mertens (bass).
It is dedicated to the Missa in B minor BWV 232 of J. S. Bach (1685-1750).
