In its 2024 edition, the Paco de Lucía Mallorca Festival presents Antón Cortés, a highly talented artist who, at only sixteen years old, is managing to create his own style that arouses the interest and emotion of great and prominent flamenco figures.
Self-taught, he takes flamenco piano to very outstanding levels of music, taking the masters as a reference, with a technique that he excites due to its sensitivity, innovation and rhythmic sense.
He adapts great works by flamenco geniuses, such as Paco de Lucía, Camarón or Sabicas, and also creates his own, with a feeling and emotion that dazzles.
His passionate performances on stage, with the movement of his delicate hands and bare feet, make a real impression.
At the age of eight, Antón had already shared the stage with artists of the stature of Pitingo, Duquende and Jorge Pardo. He has achieved recognition in Mallorca Talent and has obtained the Gold Pass in Got Talent Spain; awarded as a revelation artist at the Film Infest International Festival, and has made history at the Cante de las Minas International Festival for being the youngest artist selected, obtaining a second place as a flamenco instrumentalist.
He has recently received a scholarship from the prestigious Berklee College of Music University in Boston, he has received the 2023 Venencia Flamenca award at the Toc del Festival de la Mistela and the 2023 New Creators award at the Reina Sofía Museum. On January 6, 2024, he was proclaimed winner of the batalla de jueces de Got Talent España.
