Amanti, Santi e Naviganti is the new solo project by Sicilian Antonio Smiriglia, which is now premiering in Mallorca as part of the Cançons de la Mediterrània 2022 festival. A work where Mediterranean music takes on a new breath with influences from folk, jazz, fado and progressive rock.
Possessor of a powerful and unique voice, Smiriglia has collaborated since his beginnings in music on various projects. The Italian singer and stage actor Peppe Barra introduced him to the Nouva Compagnia di Canto Popolare, founded by the legendary Eugenio Bennato.
He worked with the Mokarta band, was the leader of the Discanto Siculo and, for a few years, has directed the Cantori de Galati Mamertino, the guardians of the Nebrodi oral tradition. With them he has released fourteen albums and collaborated with the Italian musician and film director Franco Battiato.
