In 1930 Luis Buñuel premieres The Golden Age in Paris. But the authorities ban the film and Buñuel's career is in danger. However, his friend the sculptor Ramón Acín buys a lottery ticket in the hope that if he wins he will pay for the documentary he wants to shoot about Las Hurdes, one of the poorest regions in Spain. The film Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas (Buñuel in the turtle labyrinth), adapted from the Fermín Solís comic, tells the shooting of Las Hurdes, tierra sin pan (1933).
After the screening, a colloquium is held with Salvador Simó, director of the film. This activity is part of the program of the VIII Tardor Poètica Manacor 2019.
