It is the new production of Castro Romero Flamenco and the company Suite Española, a proposal that fuses flamenco, contemporary dance and theater. Looking for Cervantes arrives to Mallorca preceded by the great success harvested since its premiere on March 4 of this year in Granada.
The brothers Rosario, Ricardo and Jose Castro Romero, considered as one of the best original interpreters in the world of dance, are Premios Nacional Cultura Vida and the first flamenco company in the history invited in the Theater Mariinsky of St. Petersburg. They have been choreographers and soloists in the Moscow Bolshoi Theater in the Carmen opera and invited in international dance finals with the first figures of the Paris Opera, Royal Ballet and American Ballet Theater.
Buscando Cervantes (Looking for Cervantes) is their individual quest; the existence and meaning of the struggle against fear, injustice, ignorance and freedom. In the dramaturgy they have had the well-known actor Javier Garcimartin - Premio Nacional Calderón de la Barca and International Prize of poetry Miguel Hernandez - and in flamenco music with Miguel Linares & Daniel Yagüe (composition and guitars), Alberto Funes (flamenco cante) and Devadip Rubio (percussion).
Formed by five scenes, the work has an impact scenario: a soft breeze rocks some fabrics that represent the leaves of the books, which take different characters from the works of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.
