El Cor de Calvià premieres this production of the zarzuela Canción de amor y guerra, with music by Rafael Martínez Valls and libretto by Lluís Capdevila and Víctor Mora.
The action takes place in Roussillon in the year 1793 and, in the context of a revolutionized France, the love story between Eloi, a blacksmith, and Francina, the master's daughter, is set. Its premiere took place in 1926 at the Teatro Victòria in Barcelona.
With musical direction by Llorenç Gelabert Gual and stage direction by Romina Colotto, the musicians Svitlana Bens (piano), Catalina Picó (flute) and Miquel Santandreu (bassoon) take part.
As soloists: Margalida Rodríguez (Francina), Roger Berenguer (Eloi), Jorge Tello (Abuelo Castellet), Tonina Vidal (Catirneta), Cristòfol Romaguera (Baldirí), Antoni Burguera (Horaci), Xavi Frau (Ferran Ridaux), Tomeu Portas ( Garet) and Guillm Tous (Batle Ridau).
