It is the first Mostra de Circ d'Alcudia, which during three days - from 13 to 15 May- will turn this coastal town of Mallorca into a fabulous scenery of the circus arts. Over 20 performances of contemporany circus can be seen, most of them free, spread over the street, in venues and in the tent installed by Circ Bover, one of the organizing companies of the event along with ResdeRes and the City Council of Alcúdia.
A total of sixteen companies will participate- from Mallorca, Catalonia, Extremadura and Basque Country with the highest quality shows, awarded at national and international level.
The performances are held in different parts of Alcúdia and Port d'Alcúdia. See programming shows. There will also be parallel activities within Circaire such as circus workshops, a conference by Catalan artist Karoli and his exhibition at the Auditori d'Alcúdia Papers de circ, which includes iconic objects of the circus world. One of the highlights is the III Mostra Competitiva de Circo. It is a contest that aims to promote emerging circus artists of the Balearic Islands. The three finalists will participate in fairs and festivals twinned with Circaire. This year will collaborate some of the artists that participate in the Mostra, to be considered eligible for the Audience Award.
The competition is held in the tent of Circ Bover and closes this first edition of the Mostra de Circ d'Alcúdia.
