It is one of the events that take place every year within the International Music Festival Vila de Santanyí, a sunset concert at the monastery Consolació. Featuring Thomas Indermühle (oboe) and Claudio Brizi (harpsichord).
The Swiss Thomas Indermühle (Bern, 1951) is considered one of the greatest oboe players of our time. He has been soloist with the Dutch Chamber Orchestra of Amsterdam and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and has won major awards, including the International Competition in Prague in 1974 and the ARD International Competition in Munich in 1976. Since 1984 he is professor of oboe at the University of Music in Zurich and is currently visiting professor at the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands.
Italian Claudio Brizi (1960) develops an intense concert activity as harpsichordist, organist and conductor. As a soloist, he has a very extensive repertoire, has premiered numerous works and many composers have dedicated their works to him. He has published about a hundred CDs with music from the late Renaissance to the present day.
Claudio Brizi is professor of organ and composition at the Conservatory of Music Stanislao Giacomantonio Cosenza (Italy), activity he combines with teaching master classes in Europe and Japan.
The International Music Festival Vila de Santanyí is coordined by the pianist Miquel Estelrich and organized by the city council. Held until September and the collection of all concerts will go to social and conservation and dissemination of musical heritage of Mallorca projects.
