Although his love for photography began at about the same time as his love for music, Ferran Pereyra has guided his career as a music critic and cultural commentator since his inception in the eighties. It has been in recent years when the author of 20 anys de cançons - a book that describes the twenty editions of the International Festival of Cançons de la Mediterrània (Songs of the Mediterranean), has been dedicated more actively to his other passion, the image.
Contrasts is his first solo exhibition and it is displayed in a perfect setting, the XV edition of the festival Alcúdia Jazz. The photographs, in black and white, have been taken at different concerts and jazz festivals held until 2013. In it, Pereyra does not try to capture the sound, but to focus on the silences as an essential contrast for the music.
