Concert by Denitsa Laffchieva (clarinet) Alexander Zemtsow (viola) Alexander Malter (piano) with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann in the Classical Music Festival Port de Sóller.
British with a Bulgarian father, Denitsa Laffchieva is today one of the best performers of clarinet. In January 2007, she debuted at Wigmore Hall in London and in October 2008 at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Alexander Zemtsow was a child prodigy. He gave his first concert at age eight with his own compositions. Born in Moscow in a family of musicians, after having been appointed in 2002 principal violist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of London, he abandoned this post to pursue his demanding solo career.
The pianist Alexander Malter was born in Moscow, but has lived in Germany since 1991. He offers concerts as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. Since 2005 he is the artistic director of this festival held annually in Port de Sóller.
He is an artist who is very much in demand. His particular repertoire includes, apart from works of his compatriots Tschaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Skyrabin, Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin and Liszt, as well as contemporary music.
