The Magic Spark. Paysage Miró at Espai Estrella

rom August 1, 2025, to January 11, 2026, the Fundació Miró Mallorca presents The Magic Spark at Espai Estrella in the Moneo Building, as part of the collective exhibition project Paysage Miró. This exhibition reveals the vital role that unexpected discoveries and accidental encounters played in shaping Joan Miró’s artistic universe.

Organized into six overlapping sections—nature, vocabulary, cultures, arts, friends, and places—the exhibition invites visitors to explore Miró’s creative process through a constellation of inspirations. This journey through his symbolic landscape mirrors the artist’s own walks through his studios, where objects, memories, and gestures preceded the final artwork.

The exhibition features 38 works by Miró and fellow artists, along with over 250 archival materials including objects, documents, letters, and photographs from Taller Sert, Son Boter, and Son Abrines. It reconstructs the intimate and poetic context in which Miró's creativity flourished, highlighting his connections with influential figures like Picasso, Calder, Sert, and Prats.

The Magic Spark is a unique opportunity to access Miró’s imaginary museum—suspended in time and shaped by everyday wonders. It forms part of Paysage Miró, a major inter-institutional initiative co-organized with Museo Reina Sofía and Successió Miró, with parallel exhibitions in four major contemporary art venues in Palma: La Llotja, Es Baluard Museu, Casal Solleric, and the Fundació itself.
