The Italian pianist Domenico Codispoti, one of the most acclaimed of the moment, returns to the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand in Valldemossa. The concert is performed on a 1849 Pleyel piano, on which he will perform 24 Preludes Op 28, by Chopin, and Scenes from Children Op 15 and Papillons Op 2, by Robert Schumann.
Domenico Codispoti (Catanzaro, 1975) is considered by international critics as one of the great talents of music in Italy today. Soloist with Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Symphony of Warsaw Radio, London Chamber Orchestra, Italian Philharmonic, National Symphony of Iceland and Symphony of Galicia, his activity has taken him to stages such as Steinway Hall in New York, Zipper Hall in Los Angeles, St. James Piccadilly in London, the Hong Kong City Hall or the Royal Theater and National Auditorium of Madrid.
He has recorded with Dynamic, Cable Musical, Odradek Records, Piano Classics, Brilliant y Naxos, and in the field of chamber music he has collaborated with great soloists such as Maurice André, Sergey Krylov, David Grimal and Alban Gerhardt, among others.
Currently Domenico Codispoti resides in Madrid, where he teaches the Master of Solo Interpretation at the Katarina Gurska Higher Center. His versatility makes his repertoire go from the traditional classic to contemporary areas and fusion with other genres. Examples are Le Grand Tango, a two-piano monographic program with Esteban Ocaña dedicated to the music of Astor Piazzolla, and Figure in Blue, an innovative recital with music from Bach to Radiohead.
