One of the activities planned within the 22e Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla is this exhibition of photographs by Dani Alvarez presented under the title En què pensen els músics? (what do musicians think?).
Self-taught photographer, Dani Alvarez began taking photographs of concerts in 2011, with special emphasis on jazz groups in Barcelona. His images illustrate the Cds of groups like Sergi Sirvent Trio (Live at Jamboree), Walk Tall (At right again) or Coetus (Entre Tierras).
In the series En què pensen els músics? he tries to capture those moments when there is only the inner world of the musician: awaiting beats , listening attentively to a solo of a fellow musician ... a gallery in which are represented several generations of jazz made in Spain. Among them, David Mengual, Gabriel Amargant, David Pastor, Juan Pablo Balcazar, Marcel·lí Bayer, Marco Mezquida, Martin Leiton, Mass Kamagucki, Sambeat Perico Ramon Prats.
The Festival Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla is organized by the City Council of Sa Pobla and programs five free outdoor concerts, held in the Plaça Major from August 2 to 6 . It also includes the 11th International Jazz Seminar with the Traveling School, a masterclass of saxophonist Perico Sambeat and exhibition of photographs by Dani Alvarez in the Sala Es Cavallets. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year in Mallorca for jazz lovers.
