The young Chinese-American pianist Eric Lu (Massachusetts, 1997) is the second proposal of the 2024 Chopin Festival. At the Cartuja de Valldemossa he performs works by Frédéric Chopin and Franz Schubert. This year's edition of the Festival Chopin de Valldemossa is subsidized by the Department of Culture of the Consell de Mallorca, the Institut d'Estudis Balearics of the Government of the Balearic Islands and the European Union with Next Generation funds.
Eric Lu first came to international attention as Laureate at the 2015 Warsaw International Chopin Competition, aged just 17. He also received the German International Piano Prize in 2017.
He won first prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018 and, the following year, signed an exclusive contract with Warner Classics and was awarded the 2021 Avery Fisher Professional Scholarship. In October 2022, Eric debuted with the Chicago Symphony and Riccardo Muti.
Eric is a BBC New Generation Artist from 2019 to 2022. He currently resides in Berlin and Boston.

The Chopin Festival is organized by the Associació Festivals Chopin de Valldemossa. It is directed by pianist Miquel Estelrich and, in this edition, it will program four concerts on Sundays from August 4 to 25, which are held in la Cartuja de Valldemossa.
