The last concert of the XI International Festival of Ancient Music of Caimari 2021 is entitled Milano Spagnolo, also the title of the new album by Evangelina Mascardi (vihuela) and Maurizio Croci (harpsichord). It is celebrated in the Immaculada Concepció de Caimari church.

Argentine Evangelina Mascardi (Buenos Aires, 1977) is one of the best lute players on the current international scene and is considered an eminence of the plucked string. In 1997 she emigrated to Europe to study lute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, where she obtained the Solisten Diplom in 2001.

For more than ten years she collaborated as a regular continuo player under the direction of Jordi Savall, Marc Minkowsky, Andrea Marcon, Giovanni Antonini, Chiara Banchini and Simon Rattle. With them she has recorded more than thirty CDs. She is currently focusing her collaboration with the Zefiro Ensemble and the Monteverdi Choir, to give priority to her solo activity.

Maurizio Croci, for his part, is a renowned international organ soloist, organ professor at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne and artistic director of the Friborg International Organ Festival (Switzerland) and the Milano Arte Musica festival. In 2012 he founded the Il Pegaso ensemble, a very versatile group made up of specialists in early music. His most recent project is Travestimenti, focusing on rare counterfacts and intabulations of Monteverdi's music.
